Kerry Hay, Principal – MBTDA Reg TC, LISTD, LIDTA
Kerry is a highly qualified and experienced teacher. She has been teaching since 1994 having worked at “The Truett Theatre School“ Royston, “The Valentine Robinson School of Dance” Willingham and “The Carolyn Parker School of Dance” Huntingdon. Kerry provided workshops for North Herts District Council for a number of years on their play schemes and choreographed and guest taught at many other schools throughout Herts, Cambs and Essex before becoming Principal of Stage Right in 1998.
Kerry has Teaching certificates in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Lyrical and Speech & Drama with the British Theatre Dance Association. She took her Licentiate Freestyle Exam with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing at Len “Strictly Come Dancing” Goodmans Dance Centre in Dartford. Kerry has Associates in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Licentiate Freestyle with the International Dance Teachers Association.
Brief professional work has included choreographing and appearing in fashion shows for BHS and Studio Dee. As principal of Stage Right Kerry found the school it’s first purpose built Melbourn Street home in 2000. After eleven years Kerry purchased an old warehouse in Lumen Road which has undergone extensive refurbishment to provide students with larger purpose built facilities.
When not teaching Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children.
Mary Bance AISTD
Mary’s passion for dance began at the age of 4 and has continued to grow. A former student of Stage Right Studios Mary continued her dance training when leaving school at the Stella Mann College where she was awarded a full talent scholarship. Mary graduated from Stella Mann with A Diploma in Professional Dance and her ISTD teaching qualifications in Tap, Ballet and Modern.
During her training and upon graduating Mary taught for Stella Mann College and Lower School as well as teaching for Theatre Train.
In 2008 Mary joined the cast of the parades and shows at Disney Land Paris performing as herself and many of the characters. Whilst at Disney Mary successfully auditioned for many of the shows including staring as Winnie the Pooh in the Winnie the Pooh Show.
Mary is pleased to be returning to Stage Right Studios, teaching Tap, Contemporary and coaching children for Competitions.
Sarah Stigler
Sarah started her training at the Wendy Truett Theatre School and then went on to Bodywork Company Dance Studios starting in the Theatre School and then completing fulltime training in all aspects of the performing arts.
After graduating Sarah performed professionally for 8 years taking her all over the world as a dancer and backing vocalist on cruises, summer seasons doing commercial work, fashion shows and corporate events. Working with choreographers such as Brian Rogers, Dollie Henry, Kevin Adams and more.
Since 2000 Sarah has started a family and concentrated on a career in teaching. Sarah has been teaching at Stage Right and other schools including CPA (Bodywork Company Dance Studios) , North Herts College and various workshops and summer seasons in the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire areas.
Also a qualified fitness instructor Sarah has mixed her dance and fitness training to create dance fitness workouts for all and in 2006 won new presenter of the year with action uk on the fitness circuit. Sarah is now a national dance and fitness presenter for varied events including Champney’s Health Spas.
Cathryn Jaffray MBTDA Reg TC, LISTD
Cathryn started dancing at the age of four at the Wendy Truett Theatre School she then completed a performing arts diploma at Bodywork Dance Studios in Cambridge.
Upon graduating in 2001 Cathryn began teaching at Stage Right and took her teaching qualifications with the BTDA in ballet, tap and modern, also gaining her ISTD Licentiate in disco freestyle.
Since then she has taught at many local dance and theatre schools but has always considered Stage Right to be her second home!
Cathryn’s professional credits include numerous professional pantomimes with celebrities such as Toby Anstis and Barbara Windsor!
Cathryn also teaches Pilates and Zumba here at Stage Right.. and is married with a young son.
Dominique Verrecchia MBTDA Reg TC, LISTD CDE
Dominique began dancing in Luxembourg at the age of 6, she went on to train at the Legat school of Russian Classical Ballet, boarding from the age of 15. She continued her training at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom Surrey. Dominique has taught for Legat, The Graham School of Dance, Laine Theatre Arts Lower School, King Slocombe, STAG and the Cambridge University Tap and Jazz Society.
Dominique has been teaching at Stage Right since 2003 and holds qualifications with the Royal Academy of Dance, LAMDA, the Imperial Society of Teachers of dancing and the British Theatre Dance Association.
Dominique’s professional work has included many adverts and theatre performances as well as modelling, Dominique is now a highly sort after Bridal wear Model.
Ashley trained at East 15 Acting School, since graduating in 2004 he has had the privilege of working with some of the most prestigious theatre companies in the world. Royal National Theatre-UK & International tours, Donmar Theatre-west end, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre-London, where he was a resident actor for 2 years.
The Royal Shakespeare Company-touring to New York , Hong Kong, Australia. Royal Court Theatre & Almeida Theatre. Ashley was awarded most promising young british actor in 2009 for his contribution to Theatre.
Tv credits include: Silent Witness-BBC. Law & Order:UK-ITV. Runaway-BBC. The Bill-ITV. Fallout-channel 4.
Teaching credits include: Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, East 15, Mountview, RADA, Lamda, Arts Ed, Royal National Theatre, Royal Court. Bratpack, Almeida Theatre and now Stage Right.
Nicole started dancing at the age of 3 attending classes at The Lisa Rusay School of Dance, The Truett Theatre School and then Bodywork Theatre School. Nicole quickly discovered a love for ballet and at the age of 12 successfully auditioned for Central School of Ballet in London.
After completing her professional training at The Urdang Academy, graduating in 2003 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre, Nicole went on to perform professionally. She has had a varied dance career performing all over the world in touring theatre productions, hotels, casinos and cruise ships as well as modelling and dancing for brands such as L’Oreal and Cadillac.
More recently Nicole has choreographed for theatre and television and also teaches adults and children at Colours Of Dance in Cambridge.
Nicole holds qualifications in fitness instruction and is currently studying for her Associate in Ballet with the International Dance Teachers Association.
Emile was born in Liverpool and trained in Peterborough. Originally a contemporary dancer Emile joined his first company when he was 16! Emile travelled Europe dancing in shows from the ages of 18-21 and then progressed to performing on cruise ships and travelling worldwide!
Emile has performed extensively as a Commercial dancer having worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Louise Redknapp and the Sugarbabes as well as working for T4!
Emile has also worked in the West End featuring in Saturday Night Fever in the UK and Germany playing “Chester”.
Emile is a very experienced teacher having taught in schools all over the country promoting dance to next generation of dancers! He is very excited to be joining the faculty at Stage Right!
Sammi has studied at Vocal Tech Vocal School and gained a Diploma in Popular Music Performance and also attended Stella Mann College of Musical Theatre and Dance.
Sammi has been a session singer since the age of 19, recording for companies such as ‘Starshine Music’ a children’s music company, The Institute of Education and more recently recording radio adverts for Soundlogic Audio.
As a songwriter, her song ‘ Turn Now’ which she wrote with co writer Richard Neil got to the top 10 in The UK Song writing Contest, she also currently co-writes dance tracks with producer C.Houchin www.lovedeuce.com
In 2010 and 2011 Sammi was a Judging panel member for live and unsigned.
Sammi has appeared at The 02 Arena as a soloist for ‘Voices for a Better World’ and as a soloist at The Royal Albert Hall in ‘Music for Youth’. She has gigged nationally and internationally with tribue band ‘The Black Eyed Teaz’ and currently manages her own piano/vocal duo ‘Brisque’ and girl group ‘FRiSKi’.
Sammi has taught for several different Theatre Schools; Theatretrain Theatre School in Bedford, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and Northampton, Razzmatazz, Cambridge, Shana Goldman’s in Brighton, The Theatre Workshop in Eastbourne. Appearing as a guest teacher at several other schools in the south east.
Sammi is an associate teacher for Vocaltutor. Vocaltutor is a highly respected network of qualified voice and singing experts based throughout the UK.
Deanna Page AIDTA
Deanna started dancing at Fusion Dance in Letchworth and then went on to study at Hitchin College achieving a BTEC in dance. She furthered her education by graduating from the University of Bedfordshire with a BA Hons Degree in Dance and professional Performance.
Taio Cruz, T2, DJ Luck n MC Neat are just a few of the UK artists that Deanna has danced for. She has also appeared in professional pantomime and has performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London‘s West End.
Deanna is a qualified IDTA teacher and has also completed her BCA Cheerleading qualifications. She has taught at many secondary and primary schools and has a big passion for teaching dance.
Erin began her dancing career at the age of 10 training in Disco Freestyle, Rock n Roll, Commercial Hip Hop and Lyrical. Soon after she began competing across the country representing her school in the ISTD Grand Finals, the European Championships and World Championships where she became Great Britain’s National Rock n’ Roll Champion, Freestyle Soloist champion, Freestyle couple’s champion, Runner up Hip Hop Couple’s European champion and runner up Trio’s European champion.
Erin went on to choreograph and perform in prestigious shows such as Stars In The Round at the Royal Albert Hall in front of the Queen and at Disney Land Paris. Erin continued her training at Cambridge Regional College completing a National Diploma in Performing Arts and then went on to study for three years at Bodywork Company Dance Studios.
Since completing her training Erin has performed in professional circus shows, taught at theatre train and choreographed shows at theatres such as the London Palladium.
